The morning sun was shining outside the Guggenheim Bilbao museum as Sebastian and Luca showed us our bikes and we each eagerly adjusted the seats and gave them a spin. Little did I know that it was going to be the only morning the sun shone in the next week; I might have savored the warm sunlight more if I had known. [PUNIQGOOGLESNIPMIX-1

Love coffee? It could be the crashing of thunder and lightning. Either way, the final day of the trip starts early. The weather has me awake by 06.00, three hours before we are set to depart on our bikes.

It has something for everybody; with beautiful countryside, interesting towns and arguably the finest gastronomy in the world. The region is largely hilly, but a cyclist can easily choose between gently rolling routes and more challenging climbs.
